Campout at Tyrell Museum for Beavers and Cubs

Revised January 10, 20087

In this, Scouting's 100th Anniversary, we thought it would be a great idea to take our Beavers and Cubs for a campout in the Tyrell Museum, in Drumheller, AB.

Dinosaur

Planning is well underway. The trip has been booked with the museum and we have 110 places availlable for leaders, youth and some parents.

Registrations Now Closed

Effective Thursday, January 10th, 2008, registrations for this trip have been closed.

Jan 5th Bottle Drive

The bottle drive on January 5th was a great success!

Our thanks go to Scouters Gerhard and Jennifer who did a lot of the planning and ground work. Many thanks go to the parents and youth who went door-to-door to collect bottles and helped sort the bottles and cans at our collection point. Without everyones contribution, we would not have had such a great experience!

Fees and Registration

Fees are $95 per youth. $20 deposit is required with each youth registration. There are no fees for leaders/adult chaparons who attend the event.

Registrations will be accepted until all the seats are taken. To register, complete a registration form and meal request form, attach a cheque or cash for $20/youth and turn it into your Scetion Leader. The earlier you register, the better chance you have to confirm your seat.

We expect that spots will fill up quickly. This trip is open to registered youth ONLY (Beavers and Cubs), sorry no siblings. Also, leaders must be given priority to be selected to meet Scouts Canada regulations and Tyrell Museum requirements.

The Tyrell Museum is planning a fun program for the kids to do including activity sessions, sleep-over in the museum, supper and breakfast, a movie and time in the gift shop.

Questions and Answers

Several parents have asked us some questions:

Our Answers

Who can attend?
This trip is open to Beavers, Cubs, Leaders and Parent Chaparons. We have a limit of 110 seats for this trip so priority will be given to youth, then leaders, then parents (limit of one per family). We need a 1 adult to 3 youth ratio so 25% of the seats will be for adults. Since we have girls attending, we will be looking for a minimum of 3 mom's to volunteer. Priority will also be given to Beaver parents.
