Regular Meetings Have Finished

The last week of April marked the last of the regular meetings for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. This allows our youngsters the opportunity to enjoy many of the sporting activities that are offered by the community leagues throughout St. Albert during May and June.

That does not mean that Scouting is finished for the rest of the year. Far from it. There are activities planned for May and June. In addition, each Section can organize special activities for their registered youth throughout the summer until August 31st, 2007.

Thus far, here is the current schedule of activities:

• Northern Light Council is running a Scout camp at Fort Edmonton Park during the May 5th-7th weekend.
  
  
• There is a Cub Bikeree on Saturday, May 12th, which is open to cubs who can ride a bike
  
  
• Over 500 Beavers from the Edmonton Region, including both of our Beaver colonies are attending the NLC 2007 Beaveree on Saturday, May 26th.
  
  
• Buffalo Plains Area and Western Trails Area are holding a Cuboree during the weekend of May 25th-27th.
  
  
• Consideration is being given to moving the "Jamboree-on-the-Trail" from May 12th to sometime in June.
  
  
• If we can get approval, we may participate in the Mayor's Walk on Saturday, June 23rd.
