The NLC Cub Bikeree is a part day event for Cubs that is a fun and challenging bicycling activity that promotes safety and good riding skills and is open to all NLC packs. Registration is on a first registered basis to a max 150 youth. This year's event will take place on Saturday, May 12th, 2007 in the River Valley; the Bikeree includes stops for information, a bicycle inspection, a safety presentation, and skill testing activities. Lunch of hotdogs and juice will be served to all riders as well as an additional juice stop. Registration cost is $2.00
Details:
We start and finish at Government House lower parking lot. Exit off Groat Road, North of River. Start times will be staggered every 20 minutes starting at 9 a.m. (Group Start time To be Determined). Group will consist of approx. 15 youth and at least two adults. If you have a large pack we need to split them up, smaller packs may be joined together. Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your start time for mechanical check, please be patient, some groups take longer than others do. Leave only when timekeeper permits you to. The route is about 15km in length along paved City trails and approximate length of time is four hours.

Registration

The Cost of the Bikeree is only $2 per youth, no cost for leaders, thanks to the Edmonton Dinner Optimist Club who run and sponsor this event. Please register, indicating desired starting time(s). We do the best we can to fit you in at this time on a first registered basis. For Safety reasons All registered youth must be over the age of 8. Absolutely no youth under the age of 8 will be permitted to ride. ONLY registered cubs in uniform (described below) will receive the cub Bikeree crest. Leaders, Scouts or Venturers in UNIFORM who ride along as helpers will also be given the crest. PLEASE when registering list group name and number, name and phone number and email of contact leader, additional leaders names. List names of all cubs and their ages. Then list names of additional riders including adults and youth. All leaders and cubs MUST either be wearing their uniform shirt and group neckerchief or group T-shirts and neckerchief. Sashes should not be worn for this event.
