Taking Beavers and Cubs on special tours is a regular activity in our Group. This year our Beaver colonies were invited to visit 408 Tactical helicopter Squadron at CFB Edmonton (Steele Barracks).

On Wednesday evening, March 5th, 2008, 30 beavers, parents and leaders from both our Beaver colonies travelled to the base facilities that house 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron.

The Group Committee would like to thank Krys Koniecko who volunteered to serve as the Group Committee Secretary.

Krys has served as our Group Commissioner a few years ago and she currently helps with our Wednesday Beaver colony.

Each year, our Group celebrates our founder's birthday by holding a dinner. This year we went with a pizza feast and recognized special contributions made by our members and partners.

Families and friends of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts gathered at the St. Albert Catholic Parish Hall on Thursday evening, February 28th, to participate in our annual Baden-Powell Dinner.

Each year, our Group sets a goal to conduct an environment project. This year we ran two bottles drives and used the funds to offset costs of our recent Tyrell Museum Trip.

On Saturday, March 1st, Buffalo Plains Area held the Beaver Winter Games in St. Albert. Over 70 Beavers from Beaver colonies from St. Albert, Morinville, Vegreville and Edmonton attended and had a lot of fun.
