Jack Cornwell Decoration (application)

History: Jack Travers Cornwell, at the age of sixteen, served as a Boy (1st class) on board H.M.S. "Chester" at the Battle of Jutland in 1916. Morally wounded early in the action, he remained at his post awaiting orders until the end of the action, with the dead and dying around him. Transferred to Grimsby Hospital, he died a few days later. He was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross. Jack had been a Scout in London, England. To perpetuate his memory the Jack Cornwell Decoration (formerly the "Cornwell Scout" Badge) was instituted.

For Outstanding Youth Service


Andy "A2Z" Memorial Outstanding Youth Service Award (application)

This award was created in 2004 as a memorial to Andy Avdimiretz, also known as ‘A2Z’, who believed that every youth could be exactly what they wanted to be despite their economic, physical or social limitations.

Selection: Up to 10 youth can be recognized annually and each application is reviewed and approved by the Andy A2Z Committee.

Eligible: It recognizes those youth in Scouts, Venturers and Rovers for Outstanding Youth Service to both Scouting and the community over and above their section program requirements and demonstrates a consistent pattern of volunteer service over the last 12 months.

For successfully earning all six cub stars.

Eligible: Youth members registered in the Cub program.

Chief Scout's Award (application)

For active participation as a Scout.

Eligible: Youth members registered in Scouts and who have successfully completed the award requirements.
