This is the archive of all the program activities by the
Tuesday Night Beaver Colony throughout the 2006-07 Scouting year. It is going to take some time to archive all of the activities, so please be patient. See what we did to celebrate the Scouting Centennial !
September 2006
- September 26 - First Meeting - parent orientation - played 'get to know you' games - read chapter one from "Friends of the Forest".
October 2006
- October 3 - Regular Meeting - made beaver tails and decorated
- October 10 - Field Trip - St. Albert Heritage Grain Elevators
- October 17 - Regular Meeting
- October 24 - Halloween party - parents arranged treats for the kids - volunteer parents organized craft (Halloween fridge magnets- glass flower beads glued to Halloween picture glued to magnet)
- October 31 - Meeting cancelled due to HALLOWEEN
November 2006
- November 1 - Beaver Investiture Night - both Colonies invested at Bertha Kennedy School.
- November 7 - Regular Meeting - Remembrance Day theme - Story and poppy craft
- November 11 - Remembrance Day Parade
- November 14 - Regular Meeting - Climate Change theme - jumpstart
- November 21 - Regular Meeting cancelled no gym (parent teacher interviews, so we cancelled outright)
- November 28 - Regular Meeting - Floor Hockey in the gym
December 2006
- December 5 - Outdoor Meeting - tobogganing with hot chocolate
- December 12 - Regular Meeting - Barred Owl form Renewable Resources Dept of UofA
- December 19 - Regular Meeting - Xmas Party
- December 26 - NO Meeting
January 2007
- January 2 - no meeting
- January 9 - Regular Meeting - Pirate Theme Night - newspaper pirate hats, para-scopes and N/S/W/E games and magnet/compass demonstrations
- January 16 - Regular Meeting - Remote control car/truck night
- January 23 - Regular Meeting - Games and floor hockey night
- January 30 - Regular Meeting - Balloon Science Night - Balloon powered rockets and balloon powered cars
February 2007
- February 3 - Regular Meeting - paper making 1 - the beavers made paper from pulp with the help of a volunteer parent
- February 13 - Regular Meeting - paper making 2 - the beavers decorated the paper they made into valentines cards for their parents, collected BP Contest entries + group photo with campfire blankets
- February 20 - Outdoor Meeting - Sledding - at the hill behind the school - hot chocolate after
- February 25 - Centennial Baden-Powell Dinner in the Officer's Mess at CFB Edmonton.
- February 27 - Field Trip - field trip to Home Hardware to make bird houses
March 2007
- March 6 - Regular Meeting - Make, colour and decorate Beaver Buggies and race them on the track
- March 12 - Special Meeting - Beaver white tails joined the cub group and raced their Beaver Buggies against the cub cars
- March 13 - Regular Meeting - "Marc's Science Lab" - Parent volunteer organized four stations with science projects and 'hands on' science activities for the beavers
- March 17-18 - Beaver Sleep-over at the Telus Science Centre ... we had a blast!
- March 19 - Special Meeting - all Sections meeting at Muriel Martin School starts at 6:30 pm
- March 20 - Regular Meeting cancelled (no gym)
- March 27 - Regular Meeting cancelled due to SPRING BREAK
April 2007
- April 3 - Regular Meeting - practice songs and skits and swim up practice, kids also colour their year end DVD sleeves
- April 10 - Regular Meeting - Paper Airplane and games night at the school
- April 14 - NLC Beach Blast 2007 - NLC hosts a Beach Party at WEM Water Park, 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm, $6 advance tickets.
- April 17 - Outdoor Meeting - Year end party at Lions park - Roasted Hot Dogs and pot luck with outdoor activities
- April 20-22 - Group Camp - for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, a weekend at Camp Maskepetoon.
- April 24 - no meeting
May 2007
- May 26 - NLC Leduc Beaveree 2007 - Beavers from the Edmonton region gather in Leduc for a day of fun.
